CWIII is really satisfying stock, CornScala makes more sense starting with a nice used older pair IMO
You get big La Scala midrange with Cornwall low-end, but it does look like some intricate work maybe better left to the master-builder himself. I've yet to read anything but positives from CornScala owners, but would like to hear for myself... Sent from my iPhone using A.Aficionado |

Thanks Brad and Coytee,
They really are wonderful as they are now. Just thinking out loud seeing this thread. |

TMC,
The new crossovers are really nice... If you compare both (new and old one), and even supposing two are new, certanly, the second one (that you built), will be better... Nice components, air core inductor, good caps... And the original one are worn by time... You'll have good improvements... Congrats! I did a re-build at my Klipsch's crossover (RF-62II), and I had incredible improvements... And my Klipschs were new, just one year old. I removed (of original one) the inductor and the cap of mid's crossover, and I used them in my new cross, 'cause I wanted see the diferences before change the whole cross... See: The RF62II's crossover is a 12dB/octave, such as tweeters as mids... But on the tweeters there is a parallel Notch filter, probably to correct an anomaly in the its frequency response. This kind of upgrade works very well!!! Regards, Rui |

Very nice. I believe given the necessary cost cutting required to compete that a no compromise crossover can only improve things. Even in a new speaker.
I have been doing a lot of playing to an empty room. Busy this time of year, but I can at least get it all broken in. Also did some cable upgrades. Swapped all 6 of the el-cheapo single ended copper cables for custom silver cables with silver cardas RCA ends. Been wanting to do that for a long time. The crossovers and new drivers/horns just sound incredible. After 38 years I couldn't bring myself to even consider replacing my K-horns with anything else. These mods brought them into the 21st century. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. The 2 Belle surrounds will be getting the same upgrades early next year. |

Internal cable upgrade works very well too... I'd go to change the internal cables, but I stopped to work at my RF-62II because I decided to buy new speakers... Regards, Rui |

How do like the KHorn mods now that you've had them for a couple of years?
