Hardly. The step beyond Palladio is Italian.

Jerry

You know which set-up is my standard by which all others are compared.

This post raises some interesting questions, as noted at the end of the blog post. I wonder what are the limits of the Alexandria X2s' adjustability? Is there a theoretical best room for these marvelous speakers considering the speakers are designed to work in practically any environment?

I remodeled a room just for my Alexandrias, however, I started with an inalterable, relatively small, 15x20 space. I added double drywall, reduced the window area and, most importantly, raised the ceiling to get more cubic volume. With sound treatments, the system sounds amazing -- the best I have heard. I auditioned many speakers before taking the plunge on X2s, including MAXX3s and Sashas. But neither can do what the X2s can do -- and the difference is IMO vast. I was assured that the X2s would sound like the X2s I heard at the dealer or better, even in this fairly small room. That has certainly proved to be the case.

Jeff, could you tell us about the Thor's Hammer subs -- the things are so huge and costly, what did they add? Did you hear the system with and without the THs?

Someone from Boulder was there but what Boulder products were used? Sort of anticlimactic with Classe amps on such a speaker as the A2, imo.

I would love to sit in that room for a few hours of listening pleasure.
