I will have to do a comparison between the Weller, Pappy's 15 and this new Jefferson's soon...
I will be interested to hear your opinion. I thought the midddle grade held up well against the 20 yr Pappy !

Jeff,

I understand that the distillery that the Presidential Select was made in is the same distillery that the Van Winkle Bourbon was made.

I think it is the Buffalo Trace distillery. Have you guys tried any of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection? They are all excellent. They are released in the fall every year and are usually pretty hard to find. They also have an experimental collection.
Pappy is great stuff. Also, try the Pappy 13yr Rye, if you can find it.

I'll have to look for the Jefferson's PS next time I'm at the store. Good to know that there are other bourbon aficionados among us.
My liquor store was carrying the Angel's Envy as well - it looks like a good one and will probably pick it up sometime!

Thanks for the recommendation Doug! I would have liked it if they still had the reserve so I could compare the two. I got the last bottle of Presidential Select (great timing) but missed the 20 year Pappy's (bummed there because I still haven't tried it). It's hard to imagine the 20 being much better than the 15 but I will find out eventually...

I've heard of the Buffalo Trace but haven't tried any of them yet - will have to keep my eyes open!

I picked up a bottle of the Pappy 13 year rye about a month ago - good stuff!

Good to know. I probably wouldn't be as much into it then - I consider Basil Hayden a bit on that side of things so I wonder how close they are...

Interesting
A friend gave me a bottle of Basil Hayden for X Mass

I'll compare them tonight.

I do have to say with some time breathing in the glass the Envy evolved and the sweetness went down...
