Did you do comparisons of the MX151 vs the C2500? Do you prefer the DAC in the MX151 or in the C2500?

Yeah Dan, I blame some of your reviews over the years for drawing me back in!

I plan to check that out at some point, but probably not until we get everything in place; we're doing a lot of work on the house right now as well. It should be an interesting comparison. Will note it here when we do it.

Yeah, it makes for a lot more fun sharing this with her - the WAF is great, she even got into digging up fossils with me when we went to Morocco earlier this year.

Congrats on getting 2 nice new toys. I'm sure they sound wonderful.
As you say, you're very busy with the house these days but we would enjoy some pics of the new components in your system when you get a chance.

Photo
Here's a rather poor photo of the rack, with the C2500 on the 2nd left shelf and the MX151 on the upper right.
The C2500 has made a huge difference - listening at louder volumes is easier, thus revealing more detail. This lack of fatigue really makes it enjoyable with the warmth, more pronounced soundstage, and engaging sound we're getting out of the system. The 802Ds are really enjoying what we're feeding them now, and just sound so much more engaging. From a pure listening perspective, we've got the mains on the wrong axis in the room, but I'm not keen on having the TV above the fireplace for aesthetic reasons. The room has two doors on the sides of the wall with the mains and a fireplace on the wall to the left, so there are a lot of limitations to what we can actually do here with regards to speaker placement. That doesn't change the fact we are really enjoying what we have. Having a family room with great gear vs. a dedicated listening space per se is comfortable in a lot of ways, and functions nicely with our family and friends.

C2500 in the house
Very Nice! 2500 and MX121 here. Is that a Salamander Synergy rack as well?

Impressive. Total audio versatility enjoyment. Have you ventured into any 5.1 SACDs?

It is a Salamander! It's nice having something that fits the decor and is as modular as it is, without paying an arm and a leg.

Yes, in fact some of our guests last night were mesmerized with Dire Straits' Brothers In Arms in 5.1, and the song Follow You Follow Me by Genesis, which is a song well-suited to surround sound.
