Hi Miner, I had a play around with my settings again last night. Both on my pre-amp and sub. Whatever I tried I still got a large reduction in volume going from LFE to stereo. Once in stereo I tried adjusting the custom speakers settings, input gain and still could not get the same volume as LFE. In stereo mode the sub volume is just too soft for me so I'm leaving it in LFE for now. Sort of puzzling why it would do this.

If you can speak to B&W and confirm if there is some fix for this then just let me know.

I have reached out to B&W, you may also try via their website through Contact Us. Complaints in numbers does help to move the fix along.

I haven’t heard back probably due to the Holidays but I feel I have mine dialed in now. I have speakers set to 805D3, RCA, Stereo, input Gain at 7 dB, custom equalization is 2dB on all freq. choices.

When I use the same setting except for 803D3 and XLR. The sub volume still goes down substantially, I think I will stick with LFE input for now and wait for a response.

The LFE input naming is a bit misleading since it is not just for LFE but it will pass all bass send via this input with no filtering/cross. When you have a processor or amp that can apply a crossover there is no need to use the stereo input on the sub and you can just use the mono input labelled LFE. That’s what I’m doing on my 4 DB3D’s (don’t ask ) in 2 different sets for stereo and HT

For those who use the stereo input on the B&W sub and find the output lacking I have read somewhere you could use a stereo splitter and use both inputs on the subs to increase the sub output.

I did a small test and the stereo sub input plays considerable less loud using same db’s. So something is a bit odd using the stereo sub input because when I switch back to the mono LFE input in the app I have considerable more low end pressure. Now I always played this way and based on this test I’ll continue using the LFE input and setting cross on processor.

Techs in England looking into this now - took the regional rep (great, btw) and Boston tech dept. to get involved to move this up the chain and across the pond to get resolved hopefully. When you have your proprietary flagship sub used in conjunction with your proprietary flagship bookshelf monitor and the "marriage" is not right something is wrong in the software.
