Default HTM1D3 or HTM2D3?

So I’m currently looking to upgrade my home theater set up. I currently have 803D3’s as my left and right and I’m curious as to which center speaker is a better match? Thank you in advance!

The real question is: any thoughts of upgrade to 802's someday. If so, then the HTM1 would be a better choice as it would be a perfect match for the 802.

If sticking with 803's, the HTM2 will do

I wanted the 802's but size wise they do not fit in my apartment. Most likely will not be moving for at least 2 to 3 years. So wouldn't make the jump to the 802's until that happens

I guess my concern is that if I am powering the 803's with MC611 mono blocks and then the HTM2D3 with an MC303 will there be too much of a discrepancy in power/timing

Well I currently have 802D3's powered by 601's and a HTM1D3 powered by a Rotel 5 channel amp 200w per channel.

I have no issues with sound left to right etc even though the center is only getting 200 w compared to the 802's 600

As long as you level match them with whatever surround processor you are using.

More about matching the midrange/treble drivers across the front than power for me

I do not know what is wrong with me...even though I know the HTM2D3 is a better match (midrange/treble drivers) I want the HTM1. This is truly a sickness

Always consider the price difference which is $2000 retail between the two centers.

When it comes time to upgrade to the HTM1, will you be able to sell the HTM2 for a fair price etc. Center channel speakers are somewhat harder to move on the used market.
