The LP12 is a great turntable, and one that has surely withstood the test of time. And I understand exactly what you mean about the VPI unipivot. I know that the VPI is a great arm but I've never met a unipivot that I liked. I just can't get past their sloppy-floppy-fiddly feel, even though I know the issue is mostly in my head. It's not an age thing. It just seems to me that a pickup arm should be rigid.
