This is a very disarming piece of gear as in it has you listening to the music & revelling in the sound instead of trying to dissect the sound.
Really a great write up, Kev. As someone who started out with an all-tube system and now has not one but two SS components in his system, your findings do not surprise me one bit. There a number of very fine mfrs that make SS products that have the sweetness, musicality and naturalness of the best tube gear. My C-J Premier 350 power amp and EAR 324 phono stage are exemplary in this regard. The other notable products I've heard that demostrate these qualities are Burmester and of course, DarTZeel.

Thanks Bart for your kind words, though I reckon since you went across to the UK to first audition the Giya's that you are someone who listens first and trusts his own ears and has worked out that the try before you buy part is a big part of the fun... I figure you wouldn't miss the opportunity to turn buying a Soulution into some fun Swiss audition adventure for you and Meta.

Kev's solid state baby is quite surprising and exciting and it's only just out of the box. Looking forward to hearing what it is really capable of with some more hours up on it.

G.
