Default Woodstock & McIntosh An Iconic Duo

The 1969 Woodstock Music and Art Fair is the most influential, transcendent, historic, and iconic concert in modern history. Countless artists were influenced by the artists that not only played Woodstock but the artists' Woodstock performances. How many times have we seen an electric guitar version of the USA National anthem? Sure Jimi Hendrix probably wasn't the absolute first one to do it and the song would no doubt be performed on electric guitar by others in the years since 1969 whether Hendrix did it nor not. However, let's not kid ourselves. The Hendrix version is the definitive version and has been imitated by and had an influence on so many artists.

McIntosh may be the most influential, coveted, and iconic HiFi brand ever created. Sure there are much bigger brands and more exclusive brands, but none of them can match McIntosh with respect to its storied history, revered products, and ability to transcend the niche of high fidelity audio.
It was only fitting that in August of 1969 McIntosh components were used to amplify the music that defined a generation and continues to be a major cultural influence to this day.

Default Woodstock

Agree with above post.
I listened to the third installment of a three part series (NPR) of the concert tonight on my drive from Boston to NJ where we have our summer spot. Ended with the Jimi Hendrix rendition of the National Anthem. Played at 6 am, Monday August 18, 1969.
The influence of this concert is undeniable.

I purchased one of the Woodstock 50th anniversary boxes "Back to the Garden". Only 1969 were sold. 38 CDs, Blu Ray, books, pics. Virtually the whole festival. Most not released to this point.

I have only listened to the first day (8 CDs) plus CDs #36 and #37 Jimi Hendrix.

Very cool to listen to but the best part of all of it are the announcements. At the end of every performance are several minutes of announcements. Everything from "Carol from Baltimore please call home collect"........to......"Dan from Virginia, your medicine is waiting for you on the side of the stage. See Brian there."

It becomes obvious they realize a crisis is developing and that they are quickly becoming overwhelmed due to the number of people. It gets really interesting when people climb the speaker towers and disturb the fresh water piping.

........and I only heard the first day so far.
