Shunyata Zitron Anacondas in the House!
So they're here...2 x 2.25m lengths of tamely terminated AU/IEC19 Zitron Anacondas in their smartly presented zippered pouch along with some marketing material.
Well I have already been using Shunyata's Talos & Cyclops power conditioners for some time now albeit with quality Furutech & Siltech power connectors. The Furutech Flux-50 inline power filters were recently added to each component & have provided the biggest power improvement to date when used in conjunction with the Shunyata Talos power conditioners. Now it's time to engage in the Shunyata synergy that many of you have been positively advocating...These two lengths will be hanging off the wall to power each Cyclops power conditioner. The best place for the Zitron Anacondas I have been led to believe...yes? Both Cyclops are hooked up powering fans for a bit of a burn-in as is recommended by the Shunyata snake charmer himself. I'll give them 48 hours & then drop them into my system, make a note & then give them another 4-5 days on the fan. My system has undergone several positive upgrades over the past couple of weeks, so I am hoping that I will discern an obvious impact....We'll see. Last edited by MyPal; 11-14-2013 at 02:03 AM. |

Grats Steve! This is truly the right place for the big A. Will be interesting what you experience after the 5 days fan duty. I found with my A CX that it "settles" in the week after the burn-in in the system.

Congrats Steve! Keep us posted!
I'm about to get an Anaconda for my Triton. Plan to move the Python to my new D'Agostino amp.

Sorry guys, I could only manage 3.5 days on the fans. They are in now & staying in! Not easy to get the cable elevators just right, but the job is done & it looks like a roller coaster theme park back there.
They are good. Very good. Some added dynamics & punch to the music now that the Cyclops pair are back in & the Zitron Anacondas are powering them. But....Cable is not very stable yet. Shifting soundstage. I feel like I'm on a moving platform. I look forward to their further development. Last edited by MyPal; 11-17-2013 at 08:04 AM. |

I have added three power snakes over the past weeks and my experience mirrors what most report - it's a bit of a rocky road until these cables settle down. My dealer didn't have a burn-in adapter to lend me so each went in totally untamed. While I'm sure that the electrical break-in helps, I'm guessing that mechanically, they also have to relax. It would certainly be interesting to hear from some other members here on AA that might have experience with broken-in Shunyata cables being moved about.
Note that from my experience, days 3 through 5 can be rather dissapointing at times. I believe that I have also read this elsewhere here on AA as well (from Caelin himself I believe). |

I think mechanical stress applies to most cables. Every time I disturb anything, it takes around 48 hours for normalisation.

This has certainly been my experience for interconnects. My Cardas Golden Reference are particular susceptible to strain, the dielectric insulation used with these being the main culprit I believe. For high end PCs such as the Zitrons, this is rather uncharted territory for me. My two Anacondas both went with no electrical break-in whatsoever and each seemed to settle quite a bit after a little over a week of roughly 4 hours a day use. Compared to the break-in you gave yours, this is rather a light start so something else has to be in play here.

Not going back on the fan but I will give the Isotek CD a spin for a day. Many cables were disturbed & repositioned while these were carefully snaked into their place.
