I've got a Cub Cadet LTX-1050 at home. My first riding mower and definately consumer grade, and a heck of a lot better than pushing. At work, I use a Cub Cadet LTX-1050KW, which has a better engine, transmission, and wider tires. Last week I got to try a Skag 48" zero-turn on loan. Wow, even with the first time learning curve of using a ZT (and driving right into the electric fence), I was able to 'cut' my mowing time from typically 12 hours to about 7 or 8. Plus, it did a very nice job. I'm sold, we're either going to get a Skag or a Dixie Chopper.

My commercial mowing/lawn service friend runs Kubota ZTs with 3-cyl diesels. He said they are wonderful. But, like the wife's MB, when they decide to not be wonderful the service is the most expensive available and parts can sometimes be a problem. The dealer had to give him a loaner last year when the water-pump on his newest one took a dump. 10-days to fix in middle of the mowing season. But, they stood behind it and his work did not suffer.

I wish. That is just a photo of one like mine. Mine is a bit more beat up. The timer shows I have put 382 hours on it. I have gone thru 2 seats.

Mine is actually a bit newer than this one . . . but, perhaps you get the idea. (mine is a 1999 model and I think it will last forever)

These John Deere lawn tractors just keep on chugging.
