Do you think you would need the A grade for an amp driver? Also any thoughts on the 30 day vs 1 year warranty? If they are bad do they show their cards in the first 30 days? Really tempted to try in the IIPS PSE.

FWIW my 6sn7 C grade was bad out of the box...Immediate response from seller in NOVA and easy to replace, though expensive.

I bought the A grade with 30-day warranty. No issues.

Are you referring to the globe version?

Yes. Looks like it belongs in a mad scientist’s lab. I have had mixed luck with reliability in Chinese tubes and do not want to try this one without a rec.

I looked at them too and decided to pass for the same reason. There was a fire near the Shuguang tube factory and it will not be producing new tubes until 2021. There may be a lot of subpar tubes being sold by shady dealers.

I didn't notice this before bwilson.
In the first post you said you tried many different tubes with no change but the second a day later you say all the hum and noise is gone. What fixed it for you?

Recently plugged my lp3.1 ultra into a new power amp, with more power than the 45SET Firebottle, and the hum is much more noticeable now. Have tried many different tubes in all positions with little change in hum. It did seems like yesterday I noticed hum decreased as everything came up to temp but was still there. Any tips from anyone else on what I should consider doing? I can solder.

I changed the5y3 to a 5u4 and I plugged the power cord into a quality power conditioner.I use highly modified Klipschorns with Volti horn upgrades with bms4592nd mids and I have to put my head un against the grill to hear a faint buzz.
