Purely cosmetic.

At least the 705/702S2 got an upgrade in the capacitors used IIRC

It does look amazing. It was meant for a smaller room but I’m struggling to find space for it at home. Maybe it needs to go to the office [emoji848]

I guess it may be a good thing that there wasn’t a sound upgrade on the Prestige. It just means Bowers already got the standard 805D3 sounding as good as it does.

I initially disconnected the speaker cables from my Thiel CS3.7s and hooked it directly to the 805s. Adjusted the Thiel SmartSub integrator for the 805 (88dB sensitivity and 42Hz) and was really impressed with how well the whole system sounded. Really love the SmartSubs and how universal they are.

Today I got around to hooking up the system I had planned - Accuphase E380 and dCS Bartok and it does sound really good too. I’m getting a bit more glare than before but that’s because I’m not using my dedicated power line and power cords.

Bass is still impressive for such a small speaker - even without a sub.

Hi Doggie,

The 805s will give some glare until they're broken in. (more than most, I think.) If you can, leave them running 24/7 for a few days
