Hi joey_v,

I'm not aware of anything different about the 800D3 crossover versus the 802D3, although I imagine that the woofer crossover points might be a little higher due to the woofer's better response at higher frequencies.

Regards,

Patrick

Is the crossover different on the 800d3? The crossover points?

I was at a dealer last week and got a chance to hear the 802d3 and 800d3 driven by an ARC GS 150 then a pair of REF250SEs. (Preamp was ARC REF 6 and front end was dcs.)

initial impressions were that the best combination was the 250s with the 800s. The GS 150 sounded very good but a bit thin in spots. And after hearing the 800s, the 802s sounded a bit less clear and musical, although still very fine overall.

The 800D3s were quite musical with none of the bass "bloat" I had heard earlier (see post above), even though they were close to brand new. I wasn't able to do the "don't tell me what I'm listening to - make a switch (or not) without me knowing" but the difference was pretty profound.

Hope to send some more detail next weekend.

Rosenut. (Is that the right name?) They looked pretty nice next to the 802d3s. A little more substantial, but not overly large in any way.

Did you have a chance to listen to the Wilson Alexia vs. 800D3 ? I bet they gave them a run for the money if not matched them.
