With those of you with the MX160, does the settings in room perfect allow for some downward sloping of the frequency response? And has anyone compared to say, DIRAC eq?

Looking for a new SSP for my new theater
It will be the same but with a 18bgps HDMI board. I would think MC will make a board upgrade available as Lyngdorf is for the MP50. For those who don't know the MX160 is very similar to the MP50 and the MP50 is a much better deal if you dont need analog inputs.

Ok same as in, 100%? or did Mcintosh tweak a few parts.

I did demo the MP50 on a B&W system, the new B&W's. Was a little on the bright side and bass wasnt as tight as I want it, but poor room acoustics and setup could be a factor here.

Where is this statement coming from or is it fake news?

If McIntosh uses some proven parts from another vendor it is still implemented within the McIntosh architecture of the MX160. They are not slapping a McIntosh label and re-branding.

Everything is the same except the Mcintosh has the analog input boards. Even the OSD looks the same. Mcintosh may have a custom voicing curve programmed into their units to match the Mcintosh house sound, but both the MP50 and MX160 have customizable voicing curves. I am not presenting this as a bad thing...Lyngdorf Audio is a very respected manufacturer of high end audio equipment, and they have the best room correction in the business (roomperfect).

I have heard great things about roomperfect but I’d argue that the highest you could rate it is 2nd best in the business. Trinnov room remapping/correction seems to be the gold standard. May not be necessary for most people as 95% is good enough. I’m not knocking Mc products but I don’t think the majority of their R&D money and strongsuit is in the pre/pro/receiver area. Now, when it comes to amps. I love my 601’s, 207, 205 for my 9.6.6 ATMOS setup.
