Big congrats, and welcome in the Ayre's family

Be sure, you won't be dissapointed. If you're new set is new, keep in mind the burn in process. It will take about 500 hours before to have the best of the best

and of course...pics are welcome

Enjoy

Frank

uwbadger.......You made a super choice in gear. The Ayre KX-R preamp, MX-R amplifiers, and DX-5 are the cat's meow. Beautiful equipment in every respect.

I hope so

The only big variable left is the room - which is a very important one.

Need to set up my MacBook Pro with a new ssd and get some more cables and amp stands.

Hi, I'll have to echo this...especially when it's cold outa the box...give it a few days....then my MXR's kept opening up for a few months seemingly...like most was done after a week or two...but they kept relaxing over the course of 3+ months...but at a very gradual pace

CONGRATS on your purchase! Great gear !!

That should be an excellent system you have put together. We are all looking forward to your pictures and observations.

Any cable recommendations?

I have heard from a couple ayre/vandy5a owners to try anti-cables?

CONGRATS !!!! As I said, did not think you could go wrong ! Would be interested in your impressions of the DX5 as a usb dac. Did you go black or silver, imo black is visually stunning with the milling on amp cases
