Haven't been on the forum in a while - the little free time I have is spent in front of the Shindos these days. (Bit of down time for the moment - those with keen eyes may be able to see the AT 440 cartridge - my Dynavector is getting a re-tip - A great budget cartridge, but the Lafites really demand something better) My Garrard 401 project is still in the works.

Out of curiosity I put my old MM De Capos in the system the other day - a great speaker (I remember listening sessions with the Shindo amps and these speakers and thinking to myself it just couldn't really get much better than this) Well, what a shock, they sounded completely anemic, flat and lifeless. The Lafites are not just an incremental improvement, it really is a night and day thing.

Here are some updated pictures (I hope)

Hi Doug- Looking quite nice. I have the Ligno in the dark brown. Have to figure out how to download some photos here. How does the 20X match up with your Aurieges. Do you use an SUT with it.

Actually, just noticed a standard A23 SUT to the right of your Merrill. Is that the low impedance (SPU) version ?

Very nice Doug! Imaging what you can do with a higher end Shindo preamp and power amp!

Shindoug,

What a lovely, personal and enjoyable read. I fully appreciate your honesty and journey.

I was taken by the simplicity and understated presence of your system in your listening room. Most would not give that a second look, but this is not about eye candy....

Thanks for sharing,.. seriously.. thank you.
