Haven't you had this puppy for over a month now? And only 200 hrs on it?!? I'll grant you some latitude given the holidays, but still -- I'm starting to question your genuine commitment to this hobby...

I'm surprised given all my gear stays on 24/7/365 from the time it gets taken out of the box; that's why I have all solid state rather than tubes. :-)

Hi Will,

The AX-5 Twenty continues to amaze me. The level of detail and refinement is superb. It’s neither tube nor SS sounding. I cannot find fault with anything about this integrated amp (well maybe the goofy setup process). It does everything so well and effortlessly.

I think I would have to search for a long time and spend more money to find something better - much more money.

Terrific! Glad you're enjoying it. I agree with your impression; many will say Ayre is SS that sounds like tube, but I find it not quite tube but definitely not clinical like SS. Like it resides in a slipstream between the two. And it's a highly pleasing presentation, for me at least.
