Congratulatuons on finding the magic.

To balance the subs, I found measuring my room with REW very useful. I donít fully trust my ears. Without seeing how a Room is responding across the audible frequencies you should be careful making lots of changes too quickly. Loud bass isnít necessarily good bass.

Master Set uses ears. REW brings in hard data. I found blending both to work best for me.

I thought Iíd share my progress as Iím really happy with the changes...

Given my lovely wife bought for me Jim Smithís ďGet better soundĒ book and DVD I thought Iíd start here.

After determining the best bass response position to sit from I then went about moving my front 2 speakers out from the wall where they have been residing, and then used the triangle approach to determine where they best sat.

I found my listening position moved back quite a bit from where I was seated to take advantage of the improved bass response and moving the speakers off the wall by about 2 feet really helped open up the speakers. Iím now getting much better soundstage and imaging than I was and the room is a lot Ďfullerí with the sound of beautiful music

Iím curious about how the Master Set process may change things even further given it is more about using ear over measurement but Iíve decided Iím going to enjoy where Iím at for now...

I enjoyed Jim Smithís book / DVD and picked up a number of learnings from it.

Onward and upward!
