Default Jl113 vs dd18

Looking for opinions and comparison on the JL 113 vs the velodyne DD18
I like the smaller footprint of the 113 but will it keep up with the mass of a DD18?

John.......You can expect the Fathom f113 to walk all over the Velodyne. There have been any number of testimonies from ex-Velodyne users who are now loving what the Fathom does. Incredible power, unbelievable depth, extremely musical. There is absolutely nothing to fret about. JL Audio Fathom f113 kicks ass, and takes names. I love mine.

I just aquired my F-113 a few weeks ago and she blows my DD-15's out of the water.
Totally surprised.
The F-113 seems so right for the music, she doesn't get in the way.
I have my DD's up on the block as I will be doing three more F-113's.
If the F-113 can do in my 2XDD-15s,then perhaps she'll do in the 18.
The F-113 is a keeper for me.

I had a DD18 and went to F113... Same here. Blows it away. I liked the F113 so much I bought a second one. I also, bought 2 Velodyne SMS to manage the F113s even better than th JL's room correction.

I initially bought two of them but only could connect one at first. When my cables arrived and I connected the second one I could not believe the difference. I now understand first hand how multiple subs placed correctly in a room smooth out the bass response.Your jaw is going to literally drop!

I think it depends on your room.

When I demoed an F113 it didn't quite pressurize my room the way my DD-18 can.

I find the DD-18 to not integrate as well on music with my main speakers but it seems to do a better job with film effects due to the (at least seemingly) better pressurization.

Look into DD18 plus. My dealer said the newly updated digital drive plus is a lot better than the older version. He prefers the DD to the JL. Yes, he sells both brands.
