So, in general, it sounds like the 11A, LP66, MV60, Classic would all be good choices for that very sweet and liquid midrange and would all be enough power for 87db, 25Hz Salk Soundscapes? I'll do some research on them.

Thanks everyone (but don't stop the conversation!).

Ah; we have another forum in common. I will PM you there Peter.

Bingo; that's kinda what I was getting at. My mf-2250A might be going on the auction blocks...and we can talk about your level of interest; but I didn't want that to happen here (out in the open I mean).

Peter...what no one has asked about (but I'll be sure to when we PM), is your pre? I am a great believer in synergy; so to say which amp...whether it be SS or tube...is "best", without knowing its sibling...is impossible IMO.

Well.... I hope my choice in pre doesn't start a debate on its own.

I have an Onkyo PR-SC5508 pre/pro. It is both for simplicity in the combo 2 hannel / home theater and because I haven't had great experience with pre's that I've tried. It's that midrange sensitivity of mine. I tried and ARC LS-17 and a Bel Canto DAC2.5 (direct to amp). I am using the Bel Canto as the DAC (into the Onkyo) now.

Yes.

But if you can find a way to get an LP70S, even better.

Hi Peter,

I'll be getting the MV60SE tomorrow: sooner than expected.

Having owned a Prem 11A for almost 10 years and thinking that I would never part with it, I have to say that it's a great amp. Great build quality & very reliable. The sounds is very warm and it will seduce you and put you to sleep very quickly. However, you do have to remember that it is not really neutral, more towards the warm side. I would go for something like a Classis 60 which is a newer amp and a lot for neutral. Listen to both of them if possible.
