For anyone interested in the Sonos ARC, here is a good video describing this new 11 driver, Dolby Atmos capable sound bar.

Dolby Atmos adds the "high channels" so sounds can be interpreted as three dimensional objects. Hence the upward firing drivers. Dolby Atmos supports up to 128 of these sound "objects".

If you’re limited to a sound bar, this is certainly a great one, but Atmos from a soundbar can only give you a hint of the real thing with ceiling speakers.

Just looking to enhance the sound experience for watching concerts on one of the TVs in the house, the quick and easy way.

Of course a sound bar is no match for a full setup but I have already been there and done that before. Really do not feel like going through all that again.

The sound bar is good enough for the occasional movies and a few concerts a month that we would be using it for with my wife.

Yes, absolutely.

Serge let me know how you like it . I was thinking of getting one for a tv in Florida. I can tell you the original Sonos play bar couple with the Sonos sub is pretty good so I’m sure this new one is even better

We use Sonos ARC on our Playbar in our living/great room. It’s a two story open space with no parallel surfaces.

It does a great job of enhancing the output of what is admittedly a limited capability product - the Playbar itself.

It changes the frequency response and also the spatial presentation of the Playbar in a way that makes the speaker appear to be larger than it really is.

Thanks for the info Tom. While I do own a few Sonos speakers and have been using the system for years with satisfactory results for what they are, I have never tried their sound bars.
