Dan....thanks for the glowing "review", it was a great time indeed, and you are right, the 6 hours or so flew right by. That MCD500 is a truly impressive piece of gear, beautiful to look at, built like a tank, and a stellar performer. I strive to own one now. In fact, I haven't listened to my 7009 since!
Howard...I don't know that you'd ever told me that you'd owned a pair of JBL Olympus S8R's. (actually I'm not sure from your post if you'd actually owned them or were simply awed by the system you heard them in. That you mentioned each piece specifically suggests that it was your system). In any event, the Olympus is a great piece of JBL history, with its huge furniture grade cabinet, awesome driver compliment, and latticework grille. I still am awed when I see a photo of them: We'll definitely have to get together. We're not that far apart, as you say. All....this is a great family indeed. Some of us are not too far apart, and some of us are a great distance apart-making the get togethers more of a challenge. In either case, it's worth the trouble. Great fun with a great hobby, and great fellowship. Thanks again Dan for your visit, and the great review! We'll do it again soon. Pete
