Welcome aboard! I’ve had an MC 275 for a decade or so and really love it. I heard your speakers at RMAF last year and was very impressed. Good luck with the cable decision - you’ll get a lot of opinions to take onboard.

Stumbled upon this forum when searching for high end cables and came across a thread discussing some interesting options from Wireworld. I was primarily considering various Dragon cables from Moon Audio and McIntosh's own cables, but these have intrigued me. I will no doubt have questions and the community's knowledge would be much appreciated.

That happened with the very first thread I read, when I got the initial sticker shock of seeing a $700 power cable being recommended, then got back to that bank robbing plan when I saw that the really good power cables tipped the scale at $4300. And it's just a power cable...

Nothing quite like feeling that T-Ref speakers at $8500/pair are a sizable investment, then seeing people recommend something called a Gold Eclipse cable and figuring out that getting those cables at the length I'd need for four speakers would probably cost more than the speakers themselves. Then realizing that each of those speakers probably should be getting its own $700-4300 power cable at some point...To think that just a couple days ago I thought the far more affordable Black Dragon cables for them were an investment...

Did I mention that I have some very nice bridges for sale?

OccidentalDB,

You can spend a lot of money on tweaks like fancy cables and vibration control devices, but you don't need to and you really shouldn't right away. Build your system with great components first, and then start tweaking. And always try tweaks at home before you buy them. Reputable dealers will let you audition these devices at home before you buy them. So you can probably turn that bank robbing plan into a simpler mini-mart heist.

Hello everyone, I joined AA a while back (Can't remember when). I've had a Mac 2300 pre-amp for about 6 years now and love it. Hoping to eventually upgrade to a C1100 and a pair of 2301s. I'm mainly a lurker on this forum. The information from other members has been very helpful though.

I'm trying to start a new post requesting help on an issue I'm having with volume control and the system won't let me. I'm prohibited from doing most activities, can't post, can't view my own profile. Is there a reason for this? I'm not too familiar with posting on these types of forums so forgive my ignorance. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks and hopefully we'll talk soon.
