Talking McIntosh...new year, new system. Bring on 2021!

What a crazy year!!! I lost my job this summer due to COVID + Oil & Gas. First time this has happed to me in my career BTW....and man, it sucked . My wife and and I are in the process of relocating for a new job (thankfully!). Rather than move all my gear, I decided to sell my entire system and start from scratch. We won’t be settled into a new home until the first of the year, but I decided to pull the trigger now to get my new system lined up. Everything is ordered with the exception of a rack

Here it is....

McIntosh:
• C22V
• MC1502
• MC152 (for biamp of T’s)
• MPC500

Marantz
• SACD 30n

Bryston
• Model T (thank you Ivan)

Harmonic Resolution Systems (from Ivan)
• E1 isolation bases for the 1502 and SACD 30n

Only thing left to still order. I’m undecided at this point.
Butcher Block Acoustics OR a Quadraspire rack
• 20” deep, 4 tier rack

Stay tuned!

The year has been tough enough so I can only imagine the stress changing jobs has brought.

Thank you!
2020 has been “a little bumpy” for sure!

Sorry to hear you've been impacted by the craziness that we call the year 2020.

Congrats on the new job and the new system!

Ha! I LOVE that you use economic hardship as a catalyst to a new system. That's commitment!

Looking forward to your thoughts in January/February

Hi Bun E,

One thing I'm curious about as I ponder your awesome new system--at what level will you set the crossover and do you worry about not giving the MC1502 enough of a band to shine? I have an active sub, so I'm bi-amped, but at what I would assume is a much lower crossover than would be the case on a pair of floor standers. Thanks

JWJW, What an awesome system. Those speakers will be dynamically superb. They are truly beautiful. They rest of the gear is just as awesome. I'm glad you ordered a Player with true SACD capability. It is surprising how many excellent discs that are out there that are SACD that are not overly expensive. With this system having almost unlimited dynamics you should be able to take full advantage of the SACD. Once you get it setup this is a system I would dearly love to hear. Looking forward to seeing it on AA.

All moves are stressful. I hope everything goes well and will keep you in my thoughts.

Best

Charles

Thank you Charles! Looking forward to getting settled into a new home, career and system. :-)
I’ve owned a pair of Bryston Model T’s in the past and loved them.
