Classic 1 - motor upgrade
Is it possible to upgrade the 600 rpm motor in my Classic to the 300 rpm with the HRX pulley? If so, is it something that can be done DIY or does it require a trip to the VPI dealer? I searched around the VPI forum but couldn't find any thread that specifically addresses the DIY part of my question.

You'll probably want to call VPI since the Classic went through a few different variations. I'm unable to do any motor changes on my Classic 2 as it was made when they were using DC motors that had a sort of mini-SDS inside. They said I'd have to send the table in to do a motor swap and I don't know that I'd gain anything from the change in any case.

A DIY swap can be done it you have a regular 15amp power plug. Problem is finding the kit as most of the VPI dealers/retailers don’t really have good accurate information. A call to VPI as Maks said would be best.

I'd still check with Marc or Ari at VPI. |
