The Job is cleaner, crisper, subtle things like hearing individual strings when a cord is being played on the Cat Stevens album, very very smooth, and the sound stage and imaging are to die for. The best I have ever heard. It is a true Goldmund amp... in a basic industrial case.... It even says Goldmund on the box, Model: Job 225.... All kinds of head room and dynamics. I am getting used to it; very quite, and no issue with heat. It has been on all day and I can lay my hand on the heat sink without any discomfort... I trimmed the McIntosh Pre-Amp back -6.0 db just to get a tad more control of the low volume.... |

So far I am pretty amazed by how good this amp sounds!

Ok, so I know that the standard stock power cords are not great and I know the cheap power strip I was using stinks.
I think I have figured out how to move forward for now. Got a super heavy duty cable that I was using on a computer.... can't give much info other than it has a lot of labels running up it... Made in Japan, VW-1 shielding, etc., but it is the thickest heavy duty power cable I have ever seen (figured it out, it is a Hirakawa cable)... Anyway, use this with the amp straight to the wall... keep the Monster Cable Power Center for now for the others, use two Wireworld on the McIntosh and Teac, and use the heavy duty cable that came with the Teac on the REL. This should at least get me going in the right direction.... Also, Marc, any word on your amplifier? Last edited by Randy Myers; 12-27-2015 at 11:39 AM. |

Hi Randy,
Do you have any contact info for Job Electronics? Have placed an order through their web / paypal. None of the contact info (email or phone) listed by paypal is valid! Thanks in advance. Joe |

I received e-mails back from this address. I noticed through pay pal the contact was not correct, but a day later I received a confirmation that is was shipped and then finally the DHL tracking info started being updated. From order to arrival in California took about a week. Amazingly fast actually! BTW- pretty amazing amplifier irregardless of price, and then you figure in how much it costs and WOW.... a tad high on the gain so not as much control on low volume as I prefer.... I have ordered Rothwell Atenuators which should work great for helping this. They are -10 dB... (and I have heard that they are the state of the industry for this type of product...) waiting on those now. In the mean time I have trimmed the McIntosh input back by -6dB, which helps a little. The Rothwell should help a lot. I had ordered some US based ones, but cancelled them after I was told that "you really need the Rothwell"... Last edited by Randy Myers; 01-02-2016 at 11:22 AM. |

Being that it was the first time dealing with the company, and honestly never have heard about them prior, I was chomping at the bits so to speak.
I felt more confident with the conversation with other people who have dealt with them, and with researching Goldmund. It was actually surprisingly fast. I received my amp in about a week. I was absolutely amazed how well packed the unit was. I would say even better than McIntosh does, which is saying something! I hear that the monos are really nice. For me the 225 gives a ton more power than I need and the monos would probably be way too much ... Enjoy them!!! |
