Dan, you've answered my question as clearly as one could hope for!

I have no intention of getting rid of the K-03 - as transport, and for the SACD playback.

Everyone's media situation is different. Truth be told, I have a library of under 1,000 CD's, all Redbook, and I don't spin them anymore now that I have them ripped lossless to the N100H.

So that leaves me with a small (50?) SACD collection that I am happy to physically spin when I want the SACD mastering. The K-03 can happily continue doing that. And spin the occasional CD that has not been ripped yet...

If the YGGY can significantly increase the joy I get from over 90% of my collection, at that price, it's a no brainer.

I guess I have just one last question - with something like TIDAL or other streaming, will their formats work without issue through the YGGY? I've learned SACD is 'DSD', so besides SACD's, where else would files be sourced as DSD? In other words, what are the real-world sources for DSD that I am giving up through the YGGY? Sorry for this awkward wording... just trying to understand if/how the DSD limitation would even affect me.

Cheers

Matt

Hello Matt,
I use Tidal with my Yiggy and it sounds amazing! I use a Blunote Node 2 to pass the Tidal wich go’s through my Oppo 205 (use as a transport). And then from the 205 to the Yiggy. I get the Partial unfold of the Tidal Masters.

Regards,
Jeff

Matt.......The only DSD I own is in the form of about 65 SACD's that I spin in my K-01X from time to time. I have no DSD downloads on my Aurender N10 or N100H. I get such amazing results playing Redbook CD's from my K-01X and Simaudio Moon Neo 260Dt transport/Yggdrasil DAC and FLAC files on my music servers, plus downloaded high-res FLAC files that I have no interest in DSD download files. If you are searching for DSD files do a Google search for DSD downloads. You'll get plenty of websites to choose from.

Matt,

It is fairly simple to rip your SACDs to your server should you wish to have that convenience. You can also buy/download DSD albums from a few sites such as HDTracks and NativeDSD.

I only asked because if that is something that interests you, you need a DAC that can decode native DSD.

Jacob.......By all accounts the Bryston BDA-3 is an excellent DAC that is getting great reviews and owner praise. The Schiit Audio Yggdrasil DAC is a premium DAC, as well. I don't think you can make a mistake going either way. I can tell you this, my Yggdrasil DAC is here to stay.

Well... after your review, which I respect greatly, and many hours spent reading... I just ordered the Yggy. Looking forward to hooking it up.

Thanks Dan,

Jacob

Yes, Jacob, I'm also interested in hearing your thoughts when you get yours set up.

I am planning to order in a few weeks time, just need to be pushed over the edge

Cheers

Matt
