Me too. I just put a deposit on a pair of Sashas knowing that Series 2 will be out shortly. The audio nervosa in me says I should wait for the new model, but after reading so many positive things about the current Sasha, I decided to go for the current model. What have you heard, if anything, will be the update to series 2? My dealer seems to think the new version will be more like the Alexia and have a softer presentation. If that's the case, I felt my current amp/preamp, which are McIntosh, may be the better match with the current Sasha.

There's a pair XLFs for sale on Agon.

According to the seller's listing on another forum:

NO REASONABLE OFFER REFUSED!

IMO there are a whole lot of reasons not to purchase a used XLF. It's just not worth going into. Purchasing from Wilson through my dealer is the only way I would ever do it. I don't ever plan to sell the speaker. I was just curious if there was some way to do that and get a big discount. As far as I can tell there isn't. But if I have a problem whatever it may be, say there's something wrong with the speaker or a scratch, I expect Wilson to take the speaker back and fix it for free shipping included, etc..I expect my dealer to be out at my house all day setting them up to my satisfaction. I expect my Maxxes to be safely removed and crated up. Under the best of circumstances I'm going to be stressed beyond belief. I will never go through anything like that again.

However, when it's over and it will be over, I expect musical satisfaction forever. Wilson will have a lot invested in making me happy. So will my dealer. That's worth a lot to me. I am going to need a "low spike" arrangement specially supplied by Wilson and modification of the settings which they will re-calculate based on the fact that my XLF will be a "lowboy" at 71.5" in height. Even actually thinking about all this kicks up my heart rate and gets my adrenaline going. I cannot imagine what that day will be like. Doing it without full Wilson and dealer support.....

The only info I was able to get from my dealer was the target price for the Sasha 2 will be in the 30k range. Also, Peter McGrath said he thinks the current Sasha will remain in the Wilson lineup. We probably won't know anything for sure until CES.

So happen that the long time (25-30yrs) Wilson's importer to the Country is a relative of mine.
Of course such major purchase is still best done through an Authorized with assurance that full support and services are there whenever needed.
Just try your best on the negotiation.. Goodluck.

Charles,

Knowing that you really love the Maxx 3s, but are pining over the XLFs, if you could get the XLFs, I recommend it. There's no greater torment than settling for one thing when ur heart is really fixated on another. You'll never be really happy with the Maxx 3s because of it. The performance of the XLF's will be nothing short of stellar, so there will be no buyers remorse. I'd go for the XLF's, and live happily ever after - that is until the XLF+s are introduced .

The Agon XLFs are being sold by a dealer.

I understand the stress a large purchase can create.

Maybe you should get a full physical before you place your order.

PLK, I did go to audiogon to take a look. They will probably be sold before Jan 12 anyway so its a moot point. The speakers are rated condition 9/10. My Maxxes are 10/10. They have never been touched directly by a human hand except in the rear during set up. There is simply no guarantee of what you are really getting IMO. No offence meant to anybody. If the person that owns them really wants to sell them let him get in touch with me. While true my Thor was a demo, I saw it personally for a whole year setting unconnected in a secluded corner of the sound room. I knew it was perfect and it was. The lowboy configuration is a must for me. I think if you are going to do something like this you must be able to afford it. My dealer is giving me a reasonable trade in because he knows the condition of my Maxxes. I have a good enough relationship with him that if I did have an illness and needed to sell he'd getem sold for me as a favor. I know I'm old fashioned about this; you young folks probably know better; but I think for an XLF you play it by the book: purchase a new speaker from Wilson; they are forever grateful and there to help if there is any problem; the in town dealer is very happy because they have sold an XLF; I am happy because my Maxx is gone. I have gotten credit for it in trade in, the transaction is done, no corners cut, and I can sleep at night knowing if there is any probelm, Wilson and my dealer will be there to help. I just think this is the correct way to do it.
