BDA 1 Help please
My BDA 1 isn't putting out any sound. This Is how it all started. I received a new MR88 tuner. The Wireworld optical cable came today to connect it to the Bryston BDA 1. I hooked everything up and no sound. I have my C2300 set to the D/A for the input. I noticed that before powering up the BDA and BDP the red power LEDs are on which is normal. When I power up the BDP it's LED turns green as it cycles up but the BDPs power indicator goes out. There are other LEDs on as I push buttons so I know it has power. If I disconnect the tuner, still know sound. So did the BDA take a premature death?

Ivan, I can't tell you how disapointed I was. I carefully open the Wireworld optical cable you sent and hooked it all up. I connected up my Dynalab ST2 antenna and watch the signal jump up and the HD signal lite up on the MR88. But then no sound.... What the heck did I do this time I thought. MR88 to Bryston DAC to C2300. C2300 set to D/A. The Bryston was set to Otp01 for output. Slience, this can't be happening I thought as my wife and daughter were waiting to hear this wonderful new tuner.
 I set everything back to the orginal configure of just the BDP/BDA and still slience. Now I know sometimes "Slience is Golden" but this wasn't one of those times. Then my wife says, maybe someone is trying to tell you something. Meaning God is hinting I should knock off buying all this audio equipment. Maybe she has a point. Anyway it sure looked pretty with all the lights on. I'll give Bryston a call in the morning. Again, Kudos to James who is never far away when anyone needs help.

Truly unfortunate, but we've all been there.
 It may be something very simple, Bryston service is 2nd to none.

I've had my share of audio equipment issues. I tried updating the firmware on my brand new MR88 and killed the tuner. It wouldn't turn on at all. You could imagine the look on my face when a $3000 tuner is now a door stop. Took a couple of days and some help from others and now it's back in business. I also learned something along the way. This stuff is a lot of fun, but expect some hiccups sometimes. Just like everything else in life.
