Pete...just remember that the Ref 40/Ref 150/Ref Phono 2 will all need 600 hrs of break-in so you will want to make your assessment of the gear and how it matches the Wilson Sashas after sufficient break-in period. As Randy said, beautiful set-up. I am sure you and Serge will have a lot to compare given the similarity in amplification. Would love to see pics of the system once it is finalized

600 hours will take a while to achieve. My preamp is already there but the amp and phono are new. Should be an exciting time. I will post a few pictures this weekend once the TT is set up and the speakers are in place.

I would be interested in feedback from anyone who has compared the ARC Ref Phono 2 and the Doshi stand alone phono pre, or the Doshi pre w/phono.

Just curious to hear more impressions on the Ref 250s. I am reading where this is now the best tube amp money can buy. That hard core owners of Mcintosh (eg 2301) tube amps switched over and felt it was a big upgrade. Also read where ARC stopped making the Ref 610 because the Ref 250 betters it. I have a VAC 300.1a tube amp and with my new Maggies, want more power. Before I buy a second $19k 300.1a to go monoblock, I am wondering if Ref 250s are the better path. Thoughts??

I listened to this amp at RMAF recently in various set ups and was very impressed. They did a superb job driving the Vandersteen 7s and the Nola Baby Grands.

Ivan...Marc Mickelson of The Audio Beat is going to be doing an official review of the Ref 250s at some point in 2012 according to commentary on his web site.

I also have the Ref Anniversary, Ref Phono 2, and the 250s...

I had been waiting for a new custom rack. The rack, by Grant VanderMye of Mye Sound (the maggie stand guy) came in 4 wooden crates.

I unpacked the rack, moved out all the equipment, moved the rack in, and replaced the equipment.

One of the amps started to smell...never a good sign. The 7 amp SB power fuse had gone. I replaced the fuse, only to have it go again.

Out came the amp. Apparently, there were some bad capacitors that made it through AR's QC. The capacitor took out a bank of tubes...

Finally, it is back in. I have a little under 200 hours on the Ref 40 and the Phono 2, and about 25 on the 250s...

I have new cables for the REL subs, and have only 1 more thing on the drawing board...

Whatever the replacement will be for the 20.1s, whenever that will happen...
