Default BDP-1 Questions

James,

I would like to upgrade my current digital music player (a problematic unit from the start with interface and software control issues) to one of your BDP-1 units.

In reviewing the technical information I see that I can operate the system on my network via Ethernet and an iPad app, much as I do now.

My questions relate two apps listed in the documentation, "MINI" and "MAX".

Do both of these applications run on an iPad?

Is there a minimum iOS requirement, i.e., iOS 7 or better?

Lastly, I assume that utilizing one of those applications and an Ethernet connection, I can access my music files on my server. Do I need to download an DNLA or UPnP client for the BDP-1 in order for it to "see" and access those files?

Thanks for the assistance!

-Michael

This is what you want to run on an IPad to control BDP-1/2. (Also if your are buying new, I would spend the extra few hundred $$ and get the BDP-2)

Also, I wouldn't base a go/no go buying decision of a BDP based on the Max/Mini interface, as major upgrade is likely coming in Q1 2014.

I was just wondering what works best as far as the iPad app. Having one or not having one is the Go/No Go decision point. Upgrades and GUI interface improvements are to be expected and aren't part of my purchase decision.

Thanks for the help!

Agreed on the 2 and the MPad app works really well.
