Understood . As now my surrounds are a rotten Definitive anyway, so the new one, whatever they are, considered at least not worse than today anyway. Jazz do you raise S1 up? I believe surrounds should be high, at least above ear levels at listening position. What I ll do, is to wait for a used S5 or S1.. I know one day those owners will wanna upgrade to a bigger and better Q Series. Toga

I don't raise my S1. I much prefer having surround speakers at ear level. Only previous HT I had speakers mounted 80cm higher than ears, didn't like it.

Now a dealer approached and introduced me Procella Audio , they make professional home theater system..
I am interested in P8 as surrounds and dual P15 or single P18 as subwoofer.

That sounds interesting. I thought S5 were intended to be front speakers while S1 as surround speakers. Of course S5 would cover wider range and can play louder but one usually don't have as much sound energy on the surround channels. Any particular reason why not choosing S1?

Believe me, there is a lot of energy and low bass in rear channel. A full range side channel is what I prefer.
The true reason is that I do not have subwoofer yet, i don't want to put too much stress to Q7 woofer by setting side ch. As Small. The Q7 have to work harder by playing " .1" signal already.

The ideal side ch. For me is S3. But if they want me to try S5 first then I will try.
I like Montis and Triton too as they have self powered bass section, this will not load 16AWG speaker cables too much.

Toga.

Agree. S3 may even perform better than the S5 in such application. I suppose they don't have the S3 in store yet.

Of course sometimes I have to choose something that will save me $$$.
I think they have S3, but they carry too many S5 in stock that they want to sell me S5 more.
Ok the most ideal is to wait and find a used S5. Remember this is for side channel feeding by 15 years old amp
With 15 meters of 16AWG cables, Although Krell TRIO 300 is now appear on my radar screen.

Once I tried them tomorrow I will have answer very soon, but now I think Golden Ear Triton One is the most reasonable
One.

After get new side channel, I also have to find a matching back surround. Will Magico make s1.5 any time soon?

As long as we're being logical and sane, if I were you, I'd just get another set of Q7.... Then you'd have nothing holding you back.
