AA Comrades, Need your help in identifying the best closed back headphones that can be used without a headphone amp. What say you...

I like the Stax 4070's. but they are hard to find now.

The best I can think of are the Audeze LCD XC but they are pricey...MSRP $1,799.

I suggest the Fostex TH900 but any decent headphone will always sound better with a headphone amp.

Alpha Dog Primes are nice and they are on sale now, down to $799 from $999, new. I love mine.

Even though they are colored a bit, the Denon 7000's sound pretty nice (the older version).
