Default Video Benefits of WW HDMI Cables

The majority of the WW cable discussions center on the audio benefits of the better WW cables. Are there also video benefits to using the higher grade HDMI cables? If so, which components benefit the most from a better cable? Is there a noticeable different in upgrading from a 16 to a 24 conductor cable?

Thanks for your input.

I will soon be ordering a silver starlight 7m HDMI cable from Ivan to run from my MX121 to my projector (purely video) so I'll let you know if I find any change!

Currently using a Kordz EVX HDMI cable.

I ordered two Starlight HDMI cables from Jeff (A/V Solutions) a few weeks ago and was surprised by the difference. I found the picture slightly brighter and the sound (particular on the rear surrounds) a bit more "detailed."

Now, what very well could be happening is that the cable boosts brightness and increases volume by a few dBs .

However, in the opening waterfall scene of Prometheus (one of my go to flicks for sound/picture checks) I could swear the sub rumbles a bit more cleanly and that I can make out more detailed water current/flow. I've since ordered and installed WW HDMIs on all my sources.

Truthfully, you should notice a mild difference. Whether it is an "improvement" and/or worth it is up to you. I am happy with my results.

Oh I forgot to add that I also installed a few of the newer WW USB 3.0 cables for my external storage. Other than a few tenths of a second of faster loads, I can say they make little to no difference in sound/picture quality. They look pretty though .

I installed Wireworld Starlight HDMI cables in my home theater from the Oppo BDP-95 and the DirecTV HD satellite receiver to the MX120, then from the MX120 to the Sony 53XBR9 wide screen. I had been using run of the mill Belkin HDMI cables. The differences I experienced with the Starlight HDMI cables on both the satellite receiver and the BDP-95 were an improvement in overall color saturation and depth, plus no more handshake issues I experience from time to time between the source components and the MX120. I was impressed enough to order additional Wireworld Starlight HDMI cables for the living room set up and experienced the same level of improvement in picture quality there.

I have an Ultraviolet on my TiVo and a Starlight on my DVD player. I haven't noticed an improvement in picture quality, but I have noticed a slight improvement in audio quality.

I have once spoken with the one of the most highly regarded cable manufacturers that also sells a wide range a HDMI cables, and to my surprise, he told me that speciality HDMI cables do not bring improvement in video quality, apart from the fact that they are better made and can be used for longer distances, even if you have to bend them several times on the way, without loosing the lock of the video signal (a cheap asy 10m HDMI cable may stop working when bent).

According to the same person, audio quality is another story - here you can hear an obvious improvement.

I agree with the comment that different HDMI cables do not change anything. There is lengthy discussion on this all over the internet proving the cable does not matter with the picture. One other thing to consider with optics is that the human eye cannot distinguish resolutions beyond a certain distance depending on the size of the screen.

A positive here too, I purchased a WW silver HDMI for my OPP95 to MX150 sound better, but the video was even more of an improvement.

I would say that the blacks seem blacker and there is less noise in the video.
