I went from a very good Furutech GT2 USB cable to the Platinum Starlight, the Furutech is now in my cupboard bag with the rest of my spare cables.
The Platinum is the real cable that is a go to because of the ease it does it's thing with & also the uncanny act of the Platinum line that it has of letting you here what is there in spades.

The Plat Starlight sounds like music, not hifi... what more can we honestly ask for from a piece of audio equipment. Should have listened to Ivan a year ago... I appreciate what it can do every day :-)... Unreservedly recommended.

I've had my Platinum Starlight USB cable for a couple weeks now and there is a definite improvement over the Starlight USB, my prior cable. There is more of a spaciousness to the music. The imaging of individual instruments is more life-like which allows them to not only sound better in their space, but sound better as a whole grouping as well.

I was listening today and thought that everything sounded much better. Better dynamics, better bass response, everything seemed to be on the same wavelength. I reasoned it to not being able to listen to my system for a few days, but then remembered about the new cable.

Definitely worth the price.

In the TAS power and cables buyers guide Alan Tafel says of the Platinum USB

"The primary differences between the Platinum and Silver are in the connectors and conductors (the platinum upgrades to carbon fiber and solid silver) Personally I would not have expected these seemingly minor changes to make a major sonic impact, but they manifestly do.

Through the Platinum the soundstage is huge: wider, taller, and deeper, no other cable in this survey comes close to the Platinum's ability to create scale.

Strings sound terrific, they are airy and robust with a hint of edge like real violins but no shrillness or artificiality. Too this cable makes small tempo shifts highly audible, and its dynamics are superb in every respect, speed, subtlety and smoothness...

... Bass pitch is noticeably better defined than with the other cables... this audio cable takes USB audio to a new plane of fidelity... the Wireworld Platinum Starlight USB is my new reference cable. Long live the king!"

USB cables transmit both power and data to the DAC.

Can I say that if a DAC has its own power supply, the differences between quality cables will be less than using a DAC which draws power from the USB cable?

Please enlighten!
