Yep, this is my big concern as well; rj's question about the dynamic range being attenuated from using the Emotiva box.

One of the original Shunyata Triton's compelling value propositions was that you could use it with power amps without it compressing the dynamic range all to h*ll. And that's absolutely true.

I don't know if I have DC on my AC mains, but if I did, I don't know how I could use the Emotiva unit in conjunction with my Triton.

And...the Triton's absolutely not going anywhere, unless it's back to Poulsbo for an upgrade to V3!

Ah, thanks, Ron.

Personally, I have no idea, never used the product and don't know how it performs or sounds.

I will say that the Triton was the first product I've personally used that did not impact the dynamic range of power amplifiers.

Ya see, I always had a slight hum from my McIntosh MC207 that drove me batty, and when I added the Emotiva CMX-2 all became silent and I actually believe the amps dynamic range increased because of less stress on the transformers.

So if the Emotiva CMX-2 actually reduces the dynamic range, I want to learn more specifics.

Ah, good info, Ron. Thanks. I will certainly like to know if the CMX-2 has any impact on amp DR, and also, if I were to get one, how I would use it in conjunction with my Triton, if possible.

Just plug CMX-2 into the Triton and amp into CMX-2
