Focal Sopra No2 Speakers Polish/Clean
I have the Sopra No2’s in Imperial Red. Do you think [emoji848] I can use this on them. Thanks. IMG_1402.jpgIMG_1404.jpg

NO!!! That product states that it's for vinyl, rubber, and plastic. I don't own Focal speakers but believe that they're a painted finish, if so you'd be better advised using a finishing product made for fine automotive paint finishes. I'm sure someone more familiar with the specific finish on the Sopra speakers will respond with suggestions of a more appropriate product to use. I've used Gerlitz Smudge Off to clean similar painted high gloss speakers which Ivan has recommended, and it works very well to clean and leave a streak free shine.

Thanks audio bill. I just checked the JL Audio Fathom v2 subwoofer Manuel about cleaning 🧼 my subwoofer. It says to use, “Meguiar’s[emoji768] “NXT Tech Wax” and Meguiar’s[emoji768] Microfiber Detailing cloths.” I’m going to use that on my Sub and also my Sopra Speakers. I’ll let you know [emoji848] how they come out.

New Microfiber cloths and a little automotive detailing spray (wax, sprayed onto the cloth, not the speaker) should be safe for the painted finish and the tempered glass.

I only dare to use microfiber cloths on my Sopra 2s. The manual only recommends a damp cloth for cleaning. It's frustrating because these speakers are dust magnets but I'd rather take a few minutes every once in a while (ok, every couple of days) to Swifter the speakers than to completely ruin them with polish. I'd definitely proceed with caution on anything else. Per the manual "Never use solvents, detergents, alcohol-based or corrosive products, scrapers or scourers to clean the surface of a loudspeaker".

I use Meguiar's Ultimate Detailer and microfiber cloths. I used Meguiar's Ultimate Compound to get them clean the first go-around, as the finish was raw after spending time in the shipping boxes.
