That is not true in the top range models. Maybe in the Olympica series and downwords I agree.
It's not easy to reach Franco's level. Though, I think Sf has made some great speakers without Franco. Amati Futura is not easy to beat in it's price range.
Properly set up, I'l Cremonese, Lilium and Aida are also among the best there is. The quality of design are still great. Materials and how the top range models are built are maybe even better now.
That's my opinion.

More air, details, much better highs, more articulating and dynamic. Granted so, the midrange is more neutral and some people may not like it, but I strongly believe that this is the best sound (my status quo are the live concerts I attend all the time) from SF brand and I had many of them with the exception of Stradivari and limited edition releases. And there is no way one can say that they bumped up Olympica - this is not true at all.
Do you ever get any top end brightness with the Serafino? Debating on which model to got with - a current series Sonus Faber or one of their older models (used of course). What amp/preamp have you tried with them? Many thanks.

I don't have the Serafino but I have recently bought a pair of the Amati Traditions which should be similar. In my setup there is absolutely no top end brightness. I'm extremely happy with the sound in all aspects. I'm using these with a current spec Linn Klimax DSM and Linn Solo amplifiers. These are my first non Linn purchase in over 30 years and moving from Linn 242's.
