I’m glad you ended up finding a pair. Sorry the pair I told you about that I thought were still available at my dealer had been sold.

Stahle.......I appreciate that you tried to help me locate a pair of MC75's. Nothing wrong with that. Thank you. It turned out good that my McIntosh dealer in Gainesville was able to locate a pair of the amps at another McIntosh dealer in Florida. Life is good.

Listening to the MC75's again tonight. This pair of amplifiers have exceeded my expectations. I knew they would be good, never a doubt in my mind, but they are so much more. The MC75's are truly outstanding amplifiers. They incorporate some valuable special features, too. The McIntosh Sentry Monitor circuit senses short circuits at the speaker terminals, as well as a power tube failure. If either event should happen the amplifier immediately turns off the power. This protects the amplifier from dangerous voltages damaging internal circuits. Clear the short, or replace the suspect power tube and you are back in business. No need for a trip to the service department. Another feature I like is Power Control. This allows the amplifiers to be remotely triggered by the preamplifier for turn on and turn off. A single press of the power button on the preamp or remote energizes the entire system. No more need to flip a power switch to turn on each amp, then again to turn them off. These useful and important features add safety, peace of mind, and pleasure to an already tremendous value. The MC75's are exceptional.

Tom.......The long term pleasure of ownership far outweighs the short term sting of the purchase. That's what I told myself, and guess what? I was right.

I’m really happy that these amps are everything you expected them to be - and more. That doesn’t always happen but it sure is fun when it does. Enjoy!

Dan,
Did your MC452 hold value/decent trade-in towards the used MC75? Not looking for numbers, just opinion.

Kevin.......Yes, my McIntosh dealer was quite fair with his trade offer. I could have probably picked up an extra $600.00 or so if I sold the MC452 myself, but then I would have needed to deal with boxing the amp and freight shipping it on a pallet due to the amplifier's weight, and all that entails wrestling that monster amplifier in its huge shipping cartons. As part of the deal, my dealer sent two burly techs in the company van to my home, 55 miles from the dealer's store, to deliver the pair of MC75's, pack the MC452, and take it back to their store. That had value to me, as well. So all in all I am completely satisfied with with the deal I made.
