Default Panel installation - easy?

Is the installation of a GIK 242 panel relatively easy? I read somewhere that it is held by tension wire similar to a picture on a wall... Is it difficult to get multiple panels uniform along the wall?

Thanks!

Very easy to hang. But, you hit on the difficult part - aligning multiple panels. Here is what I did. 1 Installed the wire to all panels trying to have the same length (closer they are the better but don't stress over it) 2 Holding each panel by the wire, measure the distance from that point to the top of the panel. These are the measures you need to add to the desired distance from the top of the panel to your ceiling. They should be pretty close this way.

EDIT -- The wire will stretch somewhat over time, that is why it is best to start with similar lengths of wire attached to each panel AND to affix them to each panel at the same distance from the top. E.g. screw in the eye loops at the same distance on all panels.

I should also point out - I only installed ONE hanger on each panel. That greatly simplifies the alignment part

(I know now why I don't write product manuals)

And then just install some picture hangers behind the panels?

this is what I use - -ASSUMING your walls are sheetrock! If concrete you need other tools! I also wrapped some duct tape around the wire where it hangs on the hanger.

Do these panels come with the wires?

Also, why the duct tape?

Joey ………….you're a doctor………..this one's not surgery !

I think it's fair to assume the duct tape will better keep wire from slipping (maintain alignment)

'Pops' here , just busting your stones a wee bit !!

Ha! And to help protect the wire over time where it hits the hard edges of the wall hanger.

Love this forum
