Where to audition the 800 Diamonds
Fellow A.A members, looking for some help. I am interested in the 800 Diamonds and there is no place in the Memphis area to hear them. Knowing your local dealers, does anyone know where these speakers may be out on a floor for audition? Thanks for the help!

Audio Consultants in Evanston, IL.
I would ask your dealer to find a set closer for an audition. If they don't know ask them for the rep's name. He would know or could find out. Mike |

Thanks, all.
The distance from Memphis is not all that much of a concern. When I am in the market for an expensive set of speakers like these, then a little bit of travel is worth it for the audition.

Your might check Cincinnati or Columbus. Maybe Nashville.

Kevin...you can play with this from the B&W site but you can put in your zip code and the distance your willing to travel: Find a retailer - Bowers & Wilkins | B&W
I did a first pass within a 30 mile radius from Memphis but it looks like the closest B&W Diamond dealer to you is 58 miles away from you in Arkansas: Sound Concepts (Sound Concepts). I also searched around Nashville and there is a retailer there that carries the B&W Diamond speakers: http://hifibuysnashville.com/. The one in Arkansas looks more like a custom install dealer so they may not have demo equipment to audition but you can call. The dealer in Nashville seems to have a 2-ch orientation so likely you will be able to go audition there. Good luck with the auditions Last edited by cmalak; 01-22-2013 at 11:06 PM. |

It would probably be easiest to demo a pair of 802's, and if you like them, you will love the 800. The only difference (that I am aware of) is the size of the woofers. I have heard that the 800 has a slightly bigger soundstage, but I am not sure why...I am pretty sure all the components are the same in the top end. I own 802's, and I can't imagine "needing" 800's unless you have a pretty big room. The 802's fill up a room quite well.
