Default What Replaces Oppo?

Now that Oppo is no longer making new 4K players, who makes one that can be comparable? Where do we turn?

For now the best alternative is the Kaleidescape Strato. Nothing beats it on convenience or quality and K is trying to bring date and day releases.

You still can purchase the current model Oppo’s. They are going to continue support and firmware just halting R&D for new products. At least that’s my understanding. That said as an alternative I would look to Sony, likely offering from their ES line. Also would check out Pioneer Elite.

Oppo thinking about one more production run of 205. There is a sign up sheet listed to leave contact info, email. Just thought I would pass it along.

Is the Kaleidascape a universal disc player?

Cambridge CXUHD or the upcoming Panasonic UB9000 (no SACD though) are two closest competition.
