Sorry to hear that your disability might stop you from going. They have become much more accommodating and it might even be easier than you think. Maybe give the NHRA a call if it's the Nationals you want to see.
I used to go to the Arizona Nationals every spring. I am in CT. Now and have not been to a big race in 15 years. I surely miss it.

I’m so sorry to hear you can’t either. It’s a true experience like no other. Agreed. I’m sure they are much more. I think it’s been 4 or 5 years now. I also recently bought a wonderful stadium seat that really helps as well from C****o that I use when we go shopping there and eat at the food court.
My wife is an amazing women and helps me get around all the time too. I’ll give it some serious thought.
Anyone who has not gone surely needs to go at least once. Bring the best earplugs you can get though or you may never hear anything again.

Or keep your eyes focused as the immense concussion from two 7,000+ HP engines blow by you. Your eyeballs literally rattle in your head. A trip.

Been to Z-Max Raceway multiple times and the 4X races are quite something else. One time, during practice I was able to stand near the starter courtesy of Matt Smith -- that was really awesome.

First track I went to was Lions in the late 60's. Then when that closed, Orange County & have many memories of racing my Kawasaki at Englishtown.

Been following JFR since probably day 1. Hell of a nice guy; a bit high strung I'd say as we all know of John. Love his family of competitors & always root for them as they pre-stage.

Congrats to Brittany Force (TF) and Robert Hight (FC) 2017 Champions.

Best Sirs,

Bob

Cool memories Bob !

I have fond ones as well........'Grump' @ York County, Sox & Martin, Dick Landy and the "Snake & Mongoose' match races. It is amazing where they have come from, I am a little bummed that the fuel cars don't run the 1/4 mile anymore though.................

Yeah Dave good memories for sure.

With the death of Scott Kalitta as a result of his FC's engine blowing up & crashing in the sand traps -- something had to be done to slow these guys down as 1/4 mile tracks were never designed/built to support 300 MPH runs.

Imagine what they would be running now, MPH wise --- if the tracks were 1,320 feet?

Best Sir,

Bob

Agreed Bob, but there are a handful of tracks that could lengthen their shut down area to accommodate the speed, granted Englishtown and Pomona are not on that list.

As for potential speed...... 350+

Over the years I have enjoyed drag racing, both as a spectator and a participant.

Never drove professionally but always had a good time at the track, even during a couple of close calls when the drivers opposite me lost it.

Staging:

Off the line: (I beat him..of course!)

One of my competitors who lost it. Thankfully he missed me:

good stuff Michael !

My drag racing days go way back but most recently (up until 2007) I campaigned my '86 Mote Carlo, Big Block power , 462 ci, 715Hp, naturally aspirated. Car ran low 10's @ 133+ mph.
