Nacho.......Thanks for the link. Aurender is moving right along with a well rounded catalog of interesting gear. I like the new N100C with its USB and coaxial output. $3500 with 4TB hard drive is a good price point.

I like the ACS and think it will probably appeal to a lot of people on the fence since it takes the PIA out of ripping.

Very interesting.
My understanding was that one significant appeal to the N10 was not just ability to avoid USB, but taking advantage of a much better clock in the N10 than the clock in the K-03, for example (which I happen to have). I assume this benefit does not translate with the new N100C? If not, other than increased compatibility to more/older DACS, is coax actually a better connection than USB, all things equal? Again, I am thinking input to a K-03. Thanks guys - interested to get a thoughtful view on this. Cheers Matt |

USB is the only one that does DSD and higher bit rate for pcm so I would say USB is better.

True for DSD but not necessarily true for PCM as many will do up to 24 bit/192 hz on their other inputs. So if you are not interested in DSD then you need to just listen and pick the one your ears prefer. To mine the AES/EBU input has always won when available.

That still doesn't make it sound better and I have tried including the W4S Recovery and quality cables. USB is a computer interface and AES/EBU is a professional audio interface they just sound different. I let my ears and not the specs make the decision. In my systems even glass based toslink sounds better than USB. Every system is different and we all hear what we hear.
