I have nine GIK products. One of the wall panels started showing a spot after a few months. I took it apart and the absorbing material had grease on it, which had bled through the fabric. I called GIK and they sent me some material to use to recover the panel, but it was a different material, even though I had told them what the original material was. Anyway, I eventually added a bunch of diffusers and decided to recover all of the GIK stuff with the same material as the diffusers.

I saw a few GIK panels at RMAF 2018, and I wasn't any more impressed by the current build quality though none of the panels had the obvious defects (like staples having completely missed the wood frame) that mine did.
FWIW, I've been very happy with the ATS Acoustics panels I sourced instead. Really, it's up to you and what you expect/demand; I can't say the GIK panels didn't work as designed, I just found the way they did corners to be less than I had hoped. |
