My room is 3.5m x 7m x 2.3m with normal damping and my present speaker is the original Nautilus 802 from 1998, sitting at 0.5m from each wall and 1m from the back wall. I have no issues with bass boom and fine sound overall (expecting better to come, obviously!).

I am leaning towards the 803 due to the room size but looking at pictures on the forum I see others using the 802 in similar conditions to mine. Will the 802 over power my room or will they be OK - also taking into account that the Nautilus 802 work OK?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.
Hi, I'm in the same boat. Please share your opinions about the N802 v. 802D3/803D3.

I graduated from the 802 Matrix to the 802 Nautilus and each was a big step up from its predecessor. I find the 802 Nautilus to be so good that I have not even considered upgrading until now. They are great speakers in my opinion, great soundstage and clarity.

I will post some notes once the new speakers are in place and run in, including the old Nautilus for comparison. Delivery October 01. Any volunteers to come to Norway and help me carry them down to the basement?

Looking forward to your comparison. I blew one of the woofers a couple of weeks ago and now thinking about upgrading or just simply replacing the blown woofer. I run them with a Mac MC602. I just now wonder if I upgrade the N802, I may have to upgrade the 602. Anyone care to give your opinions on the 602 driving the 802D3/803D3. Thanks!

I'M driving my 802D3 with an MC452. A pretty awesome combo. I think the 602 will be just fine.

Just ordered my complete HT setup yesterday. Bought the 802D3's, the HTM1, 2 REL G2 subs, and 4 CM6 for the rears and mids. I was going to go with the 805's for the rears and mids but decided to same some extra cash for speakers that dont really demand too much sound clarity. I have the Marantz 8802A as my processor and the C52 for music preamplifier. Bought the MC452 to power the 802 and the MC8702 for the other channels. What do you guys think of my overall setup? Also, do you think that the 452 will do fine with the 802D3? Opted out of the monoblocks as I was trying to save 5.5K.

Very very good system.

I have a/b the 452 against 601. I think the 601 is warmer and definitely more foundation... Whether it's worth it is up to you.

Great! Thanks so much! yah i was did A/B the 601 and did hear a difference from the 452 but it wasn't enough for me to justify the extra money. I'm going to use the money i saved to buy the MT-5 turn table.
