Default Grado Master 2 MC Cartridge

Was curious if anyone has/had any experience with Grado Phono Cartridges? I am looking at the Grado Master 2 MC as a possible upgrade to replace my Sumiko Blue Point II on my Mcintosh MT5.............any views/opinions would be very welcome

I cannot comment on this cartridge but i can tell you other recommendations for your MT5:

Ortofon Quintet Black
Ortofon Cadenza Red
Lyra Delos
Dynavector 20x2

I have only listened to the MT5 with the sumiko Blue point, but after spending long time on the net looking for advice i found people recommended those cartridges.

Are you happy with your MT5? I really Love the design and i am considering to buy it but i think i Will get the VPI PRIME... quite ugly but everyone agrees is a beast for the money

I upgraded the cartridge on my mt-5 to the clear audio concerto, v.2. Love it.

I have no experience with the grado.

Grado are extremely fussy about tonearm matching and synergy with the rest of the system. They don't seem to like highly directional speakers like source point drivers. On the other hand when everything aligns they're damn near impossible to beat. My top 10 cartridges are:

1) Supex SD900 Super (shibata retip)
2) Fidelity Research FR-1 Mk3
3) Grace F9E with Soundsmith Ruby stylus
4) Grado Reference Platinum 1 (microtracer retip)
5) Stanton 785LZE with Pickering XLZ-7500S II stylus
6) Denon DL103 (cocobolo closed body, Nagaoka cantilever, shibata tip)
7) Hana EL
8) Empire 4000 D/I
9) Pickering XSV3000 (shibata tip)
10) Pickering XV15 625E (shibata tip)

I'd expect the Grado Master to be better than my Reference Platinum 1
