Thanks. Thus far, they are excellent (other than the damage to my hip when I attempt to move them - ugh).

Am very pleased with the how low they will go. Not that small a speaker, but certainly not a floorstander, either.

Hi Debby and Formerly YB-2,
I'm a newbie here....I hope very soon to be owner of that's great speakers.
They sounds fast and magic.
In Italy is not so easy to find or to listen one.
Probably one of my best speakers of ever.
I'd like to know which of many can it be a best matching by an integrated amplifiers that I can make.

I'm moving to a Nait 2....but I'm afraid to make some mistakes about.
Any experience about is welcome.

Welcome to AA and the 'CUB Club' (apparently, a quite exclusive group - there are not many of us). My 'opinion' is that these speakers could sound 'bright' if driven by a solid-state amp (or integrated amp). You have a couple of well respected tube amp makers in Italy, if I recall correctly. Once you have the speakers you might want to audition them with both solid-state and with tubes and see which you prefer.

Many Thanks for your welcome! (I'm not so able to write in english)
@ Debby my reference!...ciao.
@ Formerly YB-2, Very interesting about your suggest to move on tube amps, italian tubes.
Here it is a little list of some italian tubes producers, which of that, in your opinion, are very popular in USA?
- VIVA V I V A A U D I O
- PATHOS PATHOS
- NIGHTINGALE Nightingale - Home
- GRAAF Welcome english
- UNISON RESEARCH http://unisonresearch.com/?page_id=687〈=it#fragment-1
- MASTERSOUND http://www.mastersoundsas.it/master%201_2_ita/index.htm
- NEW AUDIO FRONTIERS http://www.newaudiofrontiers.com/

I own a great american tube amp that calls "Bruce Moore Audio Design" model "Dual Seventy" did you know it?
Do you believe could it be a better match by triode or pentode amps?

Besides you are right, it's necessary to listen all kind (ss or tube) also becouse there are many ss that sounds as tubes (any better?) and viceversa.

From my reading of the audio press in the USA (generally, only one magazine - Stereophile), Unison Research gets the most coverage and it is all good. Pathos get a bit of coverage, but I do not recall any particulars. Have not heard of the others. However, I can highly recommend McIntosh for tubes. But, my understanding is they will be expensive in Italy unless you purchase used (contact Audio Classics, perhaps?).

How did you make out? Do you now have a set of CUBs? If you do, one thing you've discovered is just how heavy they are.

Oh yes.... I personally know how heavy they are, and all the other ones too. Why do you think I am such a buff chick?! Working at Wilson Audio was enough of a work out for me!!

I actually pulled the driver out of my WATCHDog a couple weeks back to show some of my friends, and *&$*&!! I forgot how heavy those drivers are!!!! I remembered that I had a "jig" - something we constructed to help get the heavier drivers in with out damaging the paint finish (like in the Dog, Maxx's and X-1's - yes.. its been awhile since I was in the production dept!). Was wishing for that when I went to put the driver back in!

Did make the mistake of listening to some Sophia speakers this past week. Now I'm thinking.................. Gotta get the boss' approval, first.
