My Rega P3-24 on steroids..
This is my Rega P3-24 sitting in a custom plinth (with a 3cm granite slab atop 1/4" neoprene mat...total weight 60#)
--VPI Classic 3 TT feet --Groovetracer Reference subplatter --Groovetracer acrylic platter --Audiomods Classic arm --Clearaudio Maestro Ebony MM cart This setup is doing something pretty magical...great synergy and I'm loving it! |

Looks superb!! I would be very interested in your opinions on the AudioMods arm, I have been considering this as a replacement for my Technics SL1210's stock arm (he does a version including the micrometer thats a simple drop in replacement for the stock arm).
Congrats & enjoy |

Great looking table. I don't see much resemblance to a Rega table though. Rega's philosophy was light weight table that do not hold energy. Your design is more in the VPI camp of pure mass to drain any resonances.
Would be very interesting to hear the outcome. Very nicely done! |

Thanks for the props guys. The table sounds very good actually, much better than the stock P3 with the RB301 arm and Exact2 cart. I can vouch for the Audiomods arm. It was reasonably priced and is a work of art. Jeff Spall is great to deal with. And the Clearaudio Maestro Ebony V2 is way better than the Exact2...and many other similarly priced MMs I would think. The Rega plinth is not mechanically connected to the custom plinth in any way. Rather it sits IN the plinth on it's stock rubber feet. The whole system of the plinth and the rack does a great job of isolating things. Several of my 30+ year old LPs after cleaning on my VPI 16.5 are dead silent. I still listen to a lot of music via my Naim Unitiserve server but am getting more and more back into vinyl. Its a totally different experience and quite a hoot..

Very impressive. I like everything about it. It makes quite a statement and impression. Looks like a $10K table.
Congratulations, Alberto |
